E in teoria Resta una rivoluzione che ha condizionato tutta la filosofia moderna. Lingenuo guarda il Sole che tramonta e conclude che gira intorno alla Terra; lesperto sa che la Terra a girare intorno al Sole; questa la rivoluzione di Copernico. Lingenuo guarda il mondo e crede di vedere le cose come sono in se stesse; lesperto (il filosofo trascendentale) sa che sta vedendo le cose come appaiono a noi: la rivoluzione di Kant. Duecento anni dopo la sua morte, questo libro ne espone la rivoluzione filosofica con la stessa ironia affettuosa riservata alla rivoluzione sovietica in Goodbye Lenin!.
